I made it again with my friend KATO. This is the title song from Alan Holdsworth's album of the same name. I really like this album, and this is actually the fourth cover song I've written. I've uploaded some music examples before, but I had a hard time transcribing them. As usual, when it comes to keyboard solos, I slow down the tempo and improvise as much as possible… However, if I can't play it or want to create a unique phrase, I use step input. KATO also provided a wonderful solo and backing with his guitar synth. There's a certain amount of fun in creating a cover that you don't have in creating an original song. I would like to continue working on it from time to time. Here's a work once again with my home-recording ally, KATO-san. It's the title track from Allan Holdsworth's album. I like this album, and it's the fourth tune from it that I've covered. Transcribing this tune was really tough. For the keyboard solo, as usual, I slowed the tempo way down and improvised as much as I could… but when there were phrases I simply couldn't play or parts where I wanted to create a set lick, I entered them step-by-step. KATO-san also contributed a wonderful guitar-synth solo and backing tracks. There's a kind of fun in making covers that may not get with original songs. I'd like to keep making them from time to time.
