Amazing Grace (Neil Zaza Cover) – Bora / MAYBACH Lester '60s Aged

Neil Zaza

hello. We have received support for Maybach guitars produced in Germany. I would like to thank the people involved who readily supported the guitar after watching my YouTube channel. I would like to especially thank Ollie for his detailed explanation and consideration. The model name of the guitar is MAYBACH Lester '60s Aged Midnight Sunset. Brief specifications are as follows: Body: Mahogany Top: Flame Maple Neck: Mahogany (Slim taper neck profile) Fretboard: Rosewood (Mother of pearl trapezoid inlays) Finish: Nitrocellulose, aged Pickup: Amber Spirit of 59 Weight: 3.3kg (Enhanced Chambering) Special Custom: Locking Tuner / Paper in oil Capacitor As you can see from the model name and specifications, it is similar to Gibson's Historic 60 model. The VOS model is equipped with a closet, and although there may be some likes and dislikes, it is a chamber body. The tailpiece was made from Goto, and the bridge was made from Germany (probably Schoeller?). It is also equipped with a CTS potentiometer, Russian-made oil capacitor, Switchcraft switch and jack, and a vintage Goto locking head machine. My first impression was that the orange guitar contrasted with the green of the hard case was really beautiful. I really liked that there was no excessive incontinence treatment here and there, and the Gibson Gloss model I am currently using is a bit burdensome because the hardware and body are shiny, but this model has been aging treated overall, so it was easy to use without burden. The rosewood on the fingerboard is as dark as ebony, making it very luxurious. It's a little disappointing, but there is no binding collar. Also, the nut finish, which was always disappointing when using Gibson guitars, is round and smoothly processed on Maybach guitars, and the spacing is well spaced, so it's really nice. The neck center fits well, and the top of the knob is also rounded and aged, making it soft to the touch. As for the feeling of playing, when I first picked up the guitar, I was surprised at how light it was. It is the lightest out of all the Strats and guitars currently in use. Thanks to the chamber body, there is no inconvenience caused by Gibson's characteristic heaviness. When I held the neck, I thought it would be uncomfortable because it was much wider and thinner than expected, but the end of the neck was rounded, so I was able to get used to it quicker than I thought. (After using it for about a week, it is very comfortable.) And the fingerboard feels very soft. The string height is ridiculously low, around 1.25~1.0, so I thought there would be some buzzing, but there is almost no buzzing and it is completely comfortable to play. And perhaps because of its light weight, it is easy to play high frets. For your information, there was no problem with the 3rd string tuning instability, which is an issue with Les Pauls. It is equipped with a Goto locking head machine and has a good nut finish, so it is stable and does not require tuning at all. The sound is good, both clean and drive tones. Haha, especially the high fret sound is very good. Haha, perhaps because I have a preconceived notion that it is a chamber body, the heaviness is a bit disappointing, but the bright and pretty clean tone and crisp gain sound are really attractive. The volume and tone knobs are good for making sound as they do not increase or decrease significantly at the beginning or end, so it is difficult to make an accurate judgment as I have not used it for less than a month, but what is certain is that it seems to have a different charm from Gibson. Please watch the video for the sound and give us a lot of feedback. Lastly, I would like to thank Maybach once again, and I sincerely thank you for willingly supporting such an expensive guitar and giving me this valuable opportunity. From now on, I will play all Les Paul songs on the Maybach and upload them. thank you Thanks, Olly! Hello everyone, I'm super excited to share that I've been sponsored by Maybach Guitars from Germany! I want to say a huge thank you to the team for supporting me just by watching my YouTube channel. And a special shoutout to Olli — thank you so much for all the detailed explanations and amazing support! The guitar I received is the MAYBACH Lester '60s Aged Midnight Sunset. It's pretty similar to Gibson's Historic '60 model. It's finished like a VOS model with a light closet aging touch. One unique point is the chambered body. The tailpiece is from Gotoh, and the bridge is German-made — probably Schaller. It also comes with CTS pots, Russian paper-in-oil capacitors, Switchcraft switch and jack, and vintage Gotoh locking tuners. The guitar looks absolutely stunning — the bright orange finish against the green hard case interior is just beautiful. The subtle checking is done really tastefully. Compared to my current Gibson gloss model, where the shiny hardware and body can feel a bit too flashy, this Maybach has an aged look that feels much more comfortable and relaxed to play. The rosewood fretboard is super dark, almost like ebony — it looks gorgeous. Also, something that always bugged me about Gibsons — the nut finish — is just perfect here. The nut is rounded, smooth, and well-spaced. The neck alignment is spot-on, and the knobs are also aged nicely, feeling super smooth when you touch them. I was shocked at how light the guitar is! It's by far the lightest among all the Strats and other guitars I have. Thanks to the chambered body, there's no heavy, tiring feel you often get with Les Pauls. At first, the neck felt a little wide and thin, and I thought it might be uncomfortable, but the rounded edges at the end of the neck make it super easy to get used to. and the fretboard feels incredibly smooth. The string action is crazy low around 1.25–1.0mm but surprisingly, there's almost no buzzing, and it plays like a dream. Maybe because it's so light, even playing up on the high frets feels easy. Also, no issues with the 3rd string instability tuning that's common with Les Pauls. Thanks to the Gotoh locking tuners and the perfectly cut nut, tuning is super stable. Both the clean and drive tones are fantastic! 😄 Especially the high frets sound amazing! 😄 Maybe because it's chambered, it doesn't have the super heavy punch of a full solid body, but instead, it delivers a bright, beautiful clean tone and crisp, crunchy gain that I absolutely love. The volume and tone knobs work smoothly without any sudden jumps, making tone shaping easy. I haven't even had it for a full month yet, so it's still early days, but I can already tell this guitar has a unique charm that's different from Gibson. Please check out the video and let me know what you think! Lastly, a huge thank you again to Maybach Guitars. I'm truly grateful for this amazing opportunity and for trusting me with such an incredible guitar. From now on, I'll be recording and uploading all my Les Paul-style songs using this Maybach! Thank you! And thanks again, Olli!
