Here’s a real treasure for Lukather fans – my transcription of Luke playing with Greg Mathieson Project at the Baked Potato jazz club in LA. The track is called “I’m Home” and the show was released as “The Baked Potato Super Live!” in 1982. Supremely tasteful playing by a young Lukather here.
Luke most likely used his first Valley Arts tobacco sunburst strat (with the Fender strat shaped headstock) that later got sprayed in metallic blue (as seen in Live at Montreux 1991). The tone is reminiscent of that Toto IV era (before the refrigerator racks)
