Robert Plant lost at chess to a teen fan who didn’t realize he was playing his idol. “He’s one of my favorite music artists!”

Robert Plant made a surprise appearance at a youth chess tournament in England on August 1 — and walked away with a loss to a 17-year-old local player.

The Led Zeppelin singer quietly attended the mayor’s junior charity tournament in Bewdley, Worcestershire, where he sat down for a game against George Walker. The local teenager ultimately won by resignation after Plant had to leave before the match could be completed.
