Rush have just added more shows to their Fifty Something reunion tour, with extra dates in Houston (October 1), St. Louis (October 21), Cincinnati (October 23), and Pittsburgh (November 15).
Speaking about the unexpected additions, Lee and Lifeson commented, “When we initially booked this tour, we didn’t know how well we would hold up to the rigors of the road – so we played it safe with lots of days off to recover – but life is nothing if not surprising and we’re doing fine and having a blast, so why not try to hit a few more of the cities that have always treated us so well.”
Rush’s reunion tour kicked off on June 7 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and marked the return of the beloved prog legends, with drummer Anika Nilles stepping in for the late Neil Peart. It is now scheduled to end in April 2027, with the tour covering North America, Central America, South America, Europe, and the UK.

Asked by Chile’s Radio Futuro how the two Rush icons feel about this tour so far, Lifeson said, “I don’t know that we were quite prepared for the reaction. We thought that coming back after 11 years, being away, there were a lot of Rush fans that were maybe unhappy with the way things sort of ended, and never thought they’d see us again. And then we started the tour, and the response has been – you go online, and it’s crazy. People are so excited and so happy.”
Lee noted that he’s “having a ball” and admits that preparation for this tour was “intense” and “years in the making”.
“People think you can just walk up on stage and play three hours’ worth of those songs. I’ve got news for you – even the guys that wrote those songs have to work really hard to perfect them.” The two noted that there were roughly 14 months of preparation, with a tough rehearsal schedule.
“I think the last month, as Alex alluded to, we played a full show 24 nights out of 27 days. We’ve never worked that hard in our entire lives. And I’m thankful for it because opening night, we were all a bit of a nervous wreck. And all that rehearsal paid off.”
Tickets for the new dates go on sale on September 4 at 10 a.m. local time, with pre-sales beginning today (September 1) at 10 a.m. local time.
