Donner is certainly no stranger when it comes to tweaking timeless electric guitar designs (look no further than the DST-600 for proof), but for the HUSH I-PRO, the firm clearly had a different objective in mind: to create the ultimate travel guitar and best all-in-one music creation companion.
And, from the looks of things, it’s a brief that has been nailed. The HUSH-I PRO electric acoustic guitar heralds from Donner’s advanced R&D team, and is the result of an independently developed audio algorithm – featuring a H1 chip – that supports and offers next generation tonal performance.
As a result, the algorithm means the guitar offers multiple onboard effects modes, including overdrive, compressor, boost, modulation (chorus, phaser, tremolo, flanger, autowah), delay (analog, echo, dual, lo-fi) and reverb (room, hall, spring, cloud, shimmer).
When it comes to tone, the Donner HUSH-I PRO also comes equipped with a number of ‘Legendary Tone Simulations’ for easy switching between its eight onboard acoustic guitar tone presets. These are paired with 20 IR slots, 18 factory presets and a built-in lithium battery.

All of the above can be tweaked and dialed-in via the onboard control module that sits atop the solid mahogany body. Here, parameters for Air Boost and Tone Boost sit alongside universal Edit, Select, Value and Master controls. There’s also USB-C and headphone jacks, buttons for Bluetooth connectivity and preset saving, and a screen that lets you know what you’re doing.
It’s rather incredible that all of the HUSH-I PRO’s tonal magic has been packaged into a guitar that is as portable – and well-equipped – as this one.
In all, the guitar weighs just 1.7kg (approx. 3.7lbs), and has a futuristic headless design that makes use of a central mahogany body paired with detachable ergonomic zinc alloy quick-release stands. Other components include laurel or maple fingerboards, and stainless steel frets.
With its abundance of varying tones and inspirational catalog of sounds, the HUSH-I PRO might not just be the most complete all-in-one travel guitar currently available, it may also be the most inspiring – suitable for everything from home practicing to performing and recording sessions.
