Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has been attacked by a woman in Santa Monica, NBC4 reports.
Buckingham, 76, is said to have entered a building where he was due to have an appointment when a woman allegedly threw an unknown substance at the guitarist before fleeing the scene.
Law enforcement sources state that the woman, who is believed to be known to Buckingham from previous incidents, is under investigation, but no arrests have been made at the time of writing.

The woman in question has been described as a stalking suspect, with claims being made that she had discovered when Buckingham’s appointment would be. The two-time Grammy winner was unharmed, and Santa Monica police and the LAPD are continuing to work the case.
The news comes as speculation swirls around a potential Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks reunion. The pair celebrated the long-overdue reissue of their pre-Fleetwood Mac collaborative record, Buckingham Nicks, last year, and have been riding the crest of its wave since.
Though the record wasn’t a huge success, it has garnered some retrospective love thanks to the pair’s unparalleled success in a new-look Fleetwood Mac. The gifted musician was a key player in the band’s rebirth as they transitioned from Peter Green-led blues rockers to one of the biggest acts of the 1970s.
It took more than 50-years for their 10-track album to be revisited, with Nicks marking the moment by sharing a letter she wrote to her parents at the time prophesying the guitarist’s impending greatness.
A possible reunion has now been hinted at by Buckingham while issuing an update on the forthcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary.
And it seems the guitarist has been in the mood for burying the hatchet of late, having reconnected with Mick Fleetwood, who is set to feature on his new solo album.
The “Go Your Own Way” songwriter was dismissed from the band in 2018 over alleged setlist disagreements and now seems intent on rebuilding bridges.
Buckingham was replaced by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, and Crowded House’s Neil Finn for Fleetwood Mac’s final tour. Campbell says the opportunity, which came in the wake of Tom Petty’s passing, pulled him out of his grief during an extremely difficult period.
