Al DiMeola and his band cover Café 1930 by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla who created a new style of tango incorporating elements of jazz (and composed a great deal of film music from 1949 until his death in 1992) at the Plaza Live Theatre in Orlando, Florida on January 16, 2026. Café 1930 was written by Astor Piazzolla and was the second movement of his famouse suite “Historia du Tango” released in 1986, reflects the transition of Tango from something for dancing to more sophisticated music performed by various instrumental duos. Al Di Meola covered Café 1930 as the second track on Di Meola Plays Piazzolla, released in November 1996.
