Al DiMeola, the American jazz fusion guitarist introduced the members of his international band and told the audience the concert would consist of music from Al’s vast discography of solo albums over the years (going back to 1976). The concert opened with the performance of Vizzini at the Plaza Live Theatre in Orlando, Florida on January 16, 2026. Vizzini was written by Al Di Meola and was the third track on The Infinite Desire, Al Di Meola’s fifteenth studio album released on August 25, 1998. The Infinite Desire reached number 17 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. Vizzini is a town in Catania on the island of Sicily in Southern Italy. It is also the name of the criminal mastermind from Rob Reiner’s great movie The Princess Bride, who loved the word inconceivable. Not sure if the song came from either one of those, but we think the former is the connection.
