Dronforce Herman Li X Megadeth Kiko Loureiro shred Collab

people is asking me to show you like a brazilian style or something that’s a brazilian movie [Music] all right so back to the matter back to some 200 bpm today’s a special day we do have one of the best guitars in the planet for metal and it’s of course kika luero from megadeth x angra please everyone’s welcome kiko luero it’s been a long time correct me if i’m wrong the first time we met was i think was 99. was it 99 i think so i remember at the [ __ ] open air backstage talking to you i don’t remember being like dragonforce i remember you and we were talking yeah i think so yeah we were starting the band we haven’t done anything yet right i just started seeing my memories like that wow you were backstage like the vip area or whatever it was yeah yeah so that’s why i remember the first time and then we did a concert maybe two concerts in greece that we traveled together and then we did a did one at the storia in london yeah 2004 that was for the sonic firestorm tour which was our second album we’re just talking earlier it’s like you don’t play that much fast stuff these days right as as much it used to yeah those kind of um [Music] yeah it’s more like that’s you know the difference yeah yeah playing mega like the mega that has a lot of fast stuff but it’s different you know it’s different like i don’t know it’s like like some dave does some weird stuff like more from the punk the way of playing it’s kind of hard for me uh but we don’t have this the they call the pedaling oh because you stay on one note yeah yeah megadeth has some stuff sometimes or or more yeah interesting and kiko you don’t you don’t get to practice as much these days right yeah i have three kids so you know so basically taking care of the kids in the morning and i do play guitar sometimes i’m recording my album now solo album so yeah i’m playing guitar because of the recordings but normally i don’t play that much anymore as i used to i think i just i’m just smarter now how to practice instead of only just playing randomly on top of albums i just spend one hour and be very precise it’s gotta count yeah yeah exactly i think i call it practicing and then i difference that from playing normally people just play put a backing track and just play the songs but practicing something totally different is when you find the mistakes you correct the mistakes you really play slower check your movements there’s a lot of things you have to do when you’re practicing and then you play you gotta feel much better and then you’re ready for a gig i mean i would say you need a year two years to play a fast scare if you know how to practice knowing music is different composing song or having a band that’s totally different just to play a fast scale fast run two years max yeah two years you’ll be able to do all that scale shredding i guess the younger generation could do in six months that’s right because you have all the technology to help you have all the videos you have everything showing everything like we’re here you can we can answer whatever you want we didn’t have that no nothing right you borrow a video from a friend like a vhs and yeah exactly so so you guys have to learn how to play fast in six months [Applause] i like how you’re doing this chromatic down and then you get back into the key kind of thing the way you’re improvising yeah when you don’t know what to do you do the chromatic did you tune the guitar no no two guitar players don’t even train the guitar yeah you know what i don’t like tuners i mean the more you use this thing you never practice your the more depth you become you think yeah i mean at home of course live is different because you cannot hear where you’re playing there’s another band playing and then you have to prepare your guitar for the show but like in a day-to-day thing just to learn how to tune your guitar get one note you know like you sure okay a is good and then tune the other one practice you know like the harmonic like the old trick someone did ask earlier how did you end up getting into megadeth the short version i’m sure it’s very long but give us the version you want i came from a ibanez tour in in europe so i was sort of i was really sick and then i got a call from dave but i was coughing i was sick and then he said okay call me when you’re better for a few days like lying bad and watching a lot of mega death stuff when i was better i put my camera and i recorded four songs and i send the videos and then i called dave back and then he asked me to go to nashville to talk to him and then i took my guitar and my acoustic guitar now i went to a hotel they sent me a hotel but then he went to the hotel to pick me up and then we went for lunch and have a coffee and he was showing me the nashville and then next day yeah so you were in megadeth oh sorry i did i didn’t i didn’t play it at all well they probably i mean i sent the videos that i play i played symphony hangar 18 holy wars and trust i think yeah those four like the big big songs being hit yeah how good is your finish by the way oh i i i find that question quite interesting how is your finish huh my feeling is great i mean like i i’m the level of the teletubbies level yeah and does your children learn finnish no they speak so they speak finnish at home so i understand a lot of words you know like the basic words i understand but i don’t know how to make phrases and stuff uh how is the creative process to the conqueror die that’s the instrumental track right yeah i like that track yeah it was pretty cool from dave he said i want you to have a highlight the album because it was my my first album and he came you can do like just write an eruption oh really and then i come up now i was playing a lot of acoustic guitars there because there was no internet in that place there we were like so i was jamming this intro then they’ve helped me to set up like the entire it’s like i don’t know maybe a minute or something a bit more than that uh because the idea was to be an introduction of a song but then in the end it sounds so cool that he put as a song cool it’s like an entire instrumental piece and he also got you have a music video for that song so you guys can check it out then maybe yeah yeah so actually it’s we have the same shape the s shape but it’s not the same body no yeah you got a thick body version yeah check this out i brought this one that’s oh this is pretty heavy too oh that’s a that’s mahogany that’s heavier oh it’s even heavier yeah and then wing it neck this snack here i don’t know you can see this yeah yeah they can see yeah they can see them all right i opted for the bridge with the tram stopper the cps system so you know when you bend you don’t bend through notes at the same time you know you bend and the bridge doesn’t move forward right yeah what i do i just i i i put my hand here oh really yeah there’s a guitar trick everybody i mean it’s not a guitar trick it’s just oh i see you see you know look without the hand [Applause] the no you can’t you can hear the no goes uh going flat my hand is just kind of a little bit heavier here so it doesn’t let the brit it just avoids the like really going flat i don’t know much about guitar to be honest i have a hard time memorizing the name of the woods and the specs of my guitar you have to learn practice or get some kind of new technique to play this mega death song yeah the red stuff because uh mustang is very particular in some stuff this has to be down picking this has to be or this is butterfly or this is only downstroke some little things i i play more let’s say correctly economical no i i mean i have more like i miss i have the technique dave doesn’t have the you know he just he learned how to play like playing the song so he plays in a different way sometimes really awkward but it sounds cool and then i want to play like this i don’t want to play like clinical kind of perfect because it’s not cool and then i can’t i don’t know and then even like like this riff i i know how to play but when you see him playing oh that’s it’s a different riff you know it sounds different so yeah anyway so i have to relearn some stuff it’s almost like sometimes the wrong technique make it sound it oh yeah his own thing totally the most difficult place to play is when you have people that you care what you knew oh my god that’s that’s the most empty venue 100 000 people for your parents your friends your you know like people that really care like in front of you or great guitar players like i made all the guys that you really respect that’s hard for me this that was absolutely insane it’s all the notes out of control wow thank you so much for joining us on today’s kiko thank you so much for watching coming down so far yeah yes yeah thank you very much you guys go and see kiko with megadeth check out his solo albums they’re amazing keep updated on your social media which is yes my name and uh
