[Music] [Music] hello friends we are coming to you from Atlanta Georgia this is John McNicholas we’re taking a look at Alone again by FA Webster we are in standard tuning but we have a capo here on the first fret so instead of the outside strings being E they’re going to be F raise all the pitches a half uh half pitch to get started so an A for instance would be an A sharp or a B flat for that fifth string so strumming pattern it’s going to be with a thumb like she does or you can use a pick whatever you’d like and it’s going to be all [Music] downs we’ve got accents on one four and seven 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 chords we have got a C with a G so if you’re playing a standard C chord raise that third finger up one string and get that pinky in right underneath it next we’ve got an A minor 7 take away everything but the first and second fingers and you’ve got the A7 we have got a D minor 7 so it’s kind of like that top part of an F but you’re going to have an open D chord and your first finger is going to be covering the first and second string we’ve got a G and we also have a G5 it’s real subtle so not using that first finger for the G and then we have a G7 that’ll just come in here and there at the end of some of these passages so let’s take a look at the intro the intro is going to be C to G A minor 7 and it repeats but we’ve got this cool baseline or a guitar line that sounds like Twin Peaks if we want to mimic it so that’s fifth string third fret sixth string third fret and then fifth string open kind of like that julie Cruz falling tune uh Fay Webster if you’ve seen her do an acoustic version of it includes it just by doing uh sort of accenting those bass [Music] side even though she does it better than me there we go so that’s a nice touch if you want to add it in that’s the intro first verse is going to keep going the same way we’re going to have two more of those but you don’t have to worry about the baselines as much we’re just going to C to a G to A minor 7 then we’re going to that G5 with the third finger and pinky and I’m muting the fifth string [Music] and then I’m bringing in that second finger on the fifth string second [Music] fret back to that D minor 7 and we’re going to have that G to a [Music] G7 so let’s do that all together we’ve got C to G to A minor 7 to start with now the D minor 7 to G to the five to the D minor 7 to the G with the seven and that’s the first verse jumping in really quick if you’re liking the video please like and subscribe down below leave me a comment maybe there is another song or artist you’d like to see me cover finally check out my Patreon for as little as five bucks a month you’re going to get a lead sheet for this song and hundreds more back to it second verse is going to be exactly the same i’m just going to kind of play through it we’ve got C with a G A minor 7 C with a G A minor 7 D minor 7 G5 G E minor 7 G G G7 and now we get to a little instrumental break the instrumental break is going to be the same as the intro c with a G to A minor 7 that’s two times verse three alone again my mind is as empty as a room I’m sleeping in so we’re just going back and forth between those two chords now my plants are dead the D minor 7 the G5 to G D minor 7 G to G7 now we get to the fourth verse alone again i’m tying my shoes for the fun of it and I’m talking to my dog d minor [Music] 7 g5 to G d minor 7 g to G7 D minor 7 G to G7 that fourth verse had a little bit extra on it let’s do that one more time alone again c with a G a minor 7 in my shoes four cheeks c with a G and I’m a minor 7 talking to my dog just crying d minor 7 but the G5 to G D minor 7 G to G7 and one extra D minor 7 G to G7 and now we get the outro which is just going to be C with the G to A minor 7 alone [Music] again alone again and then a single strum at the end alone again that’s the whole tune well thanks for watching if you like the video please like and subscribe down below leave me a comment maybe there is another song or artist you’d like to see me cover check out my Patreon for as little as five bucks a month you’re going to get a lead sheet PDF of this and hundreds more and finally my podcast John Teaches Guitar thanks i’ll see you in the next one [Music]
