Introducing the mixelyian mode. What, how, where, and why. First of all, we’re going to take the C major scale and use it as our parent scale. Now, because mixelyian is specifically the fifth mode, we’re going to find the fifth note of that scale and play from that note until you hear that note again. That is the scale and the sound of G mixely. We’re going to name this our child scale. the parent scale being C major because they share the exact same notes. If you’re new to modes, forget all the other ones and just focus on mixelyian for now. You can play it over here with the root note on the E string. The pattern is just one note different. You move this one to this one. Where to use it? Mixely is one of the major modes and due to the flattened seventh, it’s commonly used in blues music where the chords presented are seventh chords themselves. So have a play around and don’t forget to like and follow for more music tips.
