hey folks and welcome back to Glenn and Adrienne’s Rock Talk that’s Adrien and that’s Glenn and today we’re going to return to Orianthy this time with Steve Vi and it’s going to be a collaboration they did in 2010 for a song called Highly Strong of course there is a video so Adrian have you ever heard of this before for some reason I thought there were I thought I heard something about something with Steve Vi orthy i’m not sure about that but I mean I know I’ve comp I’ve probably compared her to Vi yeah it could be because she has um kind of a supersonic technique like he does i mean I she could probably match him well anyway I don’t want to start any arguments she’s awfully good they are a good match i I would think we did talk about um the fact that they had some kind of professional collaboration last time i think people were asking for it so we’re finally doing it now let’s check it out heat heat heat up here heat heat heat up here heat heat heat up here heat heat heat up here heat heat heat up here heat up here i’m sorry but that ending reminded me of the movie Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure whenever they played air guitar at each other yes yes just like that steve Vive was playing that way back then when the movie was just released i mean so it was out there already he was already a guitar hero you know the song itself sounded a lot to me to my ears to be the style of Steve Vi so oh yeah he seems to have had quite an influence on it they sounded fantastic i mean I noticed at um at parts that it looked like Steve was doing a lot more with just his left hand and not so much on his right hand so he was doing a lot of fingertapping you know and just getting the the note out that way without having to actually pluck it and you know we see some of that with Orian too but I happen to notice that Steve seemed to be doing it a lot in that video especially in the middle portion before they came in for the the final section more like a lot of butter up here and and you know just kind of once in a while hitting a string or or you know also uh how how cool was getting to trade licks with Steve Vi oh yeah yeah i’m sure it’s a it’s a great thing i just I I can’t get over that well this is a year after she um auditioned and got the part for uh Michael Jackson’s tour which then didn’t happen she was already on people’s radar so she was probably a top candidate to go in for a collaboration with someone like Steve Vi you know cool yeah worked out pretty well looked good sounded good listening to him play I almost felt like I I needed to see David Lee Roth come out i can’t I can’t do his you also played with Frank Zappa that’s who I usually associate with him sure sure but he was also on Roth’s Skyscraper album I think and Edam and Smile and so yeah he worked with Roth yeah it’s funny cuz I forget sometimes that that happened you know and that was the late ‘ 80s and and uh anyway yep still on top of his game it’s funny how he’s doing this you know the guitar walking around i mean what are you going to do with a a white background and and you know four cabs and you know amps and everything nice you don’t need much a lot of those chord changes were definitely they definitely came from Steve Vice brain yeah yeah some of them they just sounded like straight up you know jazz fusion chords things that you’d hear you know I don’t know um which is his sound actually to to some degree there but yeah yeah that was fascinating that was fun i’m glad we took a look at that well folks why don’t you let us know what you thought of this and if you’ve ever seen it before or heard it before if you’ve ever attended a concert by either artist or both artists at once if one showed up on stage for the other I’d be interested in hearing about that but this was fun i’m glad we took a look at it uh thanks for the request and if you have other suggestions for us please leave those below and if you enjoyed this video please give it a like and if you enjoyed our presentation please subscribe we have a new channel now for interviews called Modern Rock Talk and I wouldn’t mind getting a nice Orianthy interview or Steve Vi interview to look at if you have particular suggestions please let me know and I’ll see what I can do thanks so much for joining us folks and we will catch you on the next one all right take care see you later
