hi everyone i’m going to show you how to play My Baby Just Cares for Me by Nina Simone the song starts on A goes D E and repeats that A D E and sometimes for that part I like to play a walking bass riff which goes so that’s the open A string to the fourth fret on the E string to the second fret to the o open E string so you [Music] got and I’m doing a mixture of down and upstrokes with the plerum there so it’s down up down up down up and then open D string to the fourth fret on the D uh on the A string to the second fret on the A string to the second fret on the D string so it’s and I repeat that so so that’s a D E A D E A my baby just cares for me b minor c sharp D F D E hot places and then went into verse two which is again a on the beginning D E A D E A something he can see B minor then we go to [Music] D G sharp C sharp minor F sharp B minor E A D E and then we have the interlude the instrumental which is the same chord progression as verse one and verse two and then we have verse three which is a D E A D E A my baby just won’t be my C d F [Music] min first four A D E A D E A he can see B minor D sharp with C sharp minor F sharp B minor E C sharp minor F sharp minor B minor And the coder at the end there is open A string to the fourth fret on the E string to the second fret to the open E string so it’s to the open D string to the fourth fret on the A string to the second fret open A string fourth fret on the A string second fret on the D string and second fret on the G string now for the strumming it is um upstrokes so it’s like a scar rhythm this it’s like a So I’m using uh a plerum you could use your thumb and your finger if you prefer so you go you could just use uh your thumb as an upstroke for example like that um if you’re using the plerum you hit the bottom strings first sorry the high strings first so and then I’m taking my chord hand off the fretboard to help dampen the string so it’s up up up and there’s a little pause in between the upstrokes so you go pause sort of hitting the the strings when they’re dampened when you’ve got your chord hand off the fretboard there [Music] so it’s almost like it’s got a bit of a swing to it this song so it’s like a nice off thebeat scar rhythm which is up up okay so we’re going to play the song from the top here we go my baby don’t care for shows my baby don’t care for clothes my baby just guess for me my baby don’t care fores my baby don’t care for hot places miss Taylor is not his star an evil turn smile something he can see my baby don’t care who knows it my baby just cares for me do [Music] My baby don’t care for my baby just for me my baby don’t carees my baby don’t care for hot places this tail is not his style i need a turn smile something he can’t [Music] see i wonder what’s wrong with baby my baby just cares for my baby just cares for my baby just cares for me [Music] and that’s how to play My Baby Just Cares for Me by Nina Simone thank you everybody for watching happy playing and I’ll see you all soon for some more
