New Laney LionHeart SuperTop Amp

[Music] So, you’ve just been listening to the brand new Laney Foundry Superto. top. Now, uh this is a wonderful amp. It’s become my new favorite amp. And uh just quickly, I was introduced to this last November when I was on tour with Jack Thamurat and I just heard this sign from across the room. I had no idea what it was, but I was just drawn to it and uh he was plugged into the top of the combo version of this, the the 212. And uh I just thought it sounded stunning. And you know, I had no idea what it was. So quickly I said, "Hey man, let me plug into that." And uh that’s exactly what I did. And I was blown away by the feel um and everything, you know, the the crunch tone, the clean, the shimmery clean, lovely reverb. And then I discovered after the fact um that it doesn’t even have valves in it. And I was completely blown away. And then I was blown away even more by the price. So basically, it doesn’t get better. Um, so you know, quite quickly it’s become my favorite amp. I played it every night after that and I used it on a gig last weekend and I used the four cable method, meaning that I can use my delays, my volume and foot switches from my effects pedal, but utilizing both the clean and crunch channel from the amp. And I have to say, I really enjoyed the gig. Uh, I think it had a great tone and it felt very responsive, especially in a loud uh, environment. So, let’s take you through it. It’s um, basically a dual channel amp uh, with a foot switchable boost and it’s beautiful. Here’s the simple [Music] clean. For me, I just enjoy the character with the boost on. So, I normally just use it with the boost on. It just kind of uh thickens out the tone and uh just feels great. You still get that creamy tone, still clean, but with just that slight break up. But, you know, if you if you play soft, you still get a nice clean tone. [Music] All right, let’s have a listen to the uh crunch channel. [Music] Let’s boost that [Music] now. That’s very satisfying. Um, so let’s uh take a look at the the chorus effect. Um, and there’s even tremolo in there. So, here’s a bit of the [Music] chorus. That’s a very usable chorus. I love [Music] it. Now, if I mess around with the rate, I can get more of like a John Scooty sound. [Music] All right, let’s try the shreing [Music] iron. So on the front you also have um a bright switch and a dark mode as well. So if you want to experiment with the the sort of tonality of the amp a little bit that gives you some extra options. And connectivity wise as well as I mentioned there’s a DI in the back. So it’s an XLR out and there are two configurations on there. There’s a 1×12 or a 4×12. There’s also a headphone socket. There’s an effects loop and speaker outs of course if you want to use the cab. And today I’ve got a microphone on it, but I’m also using the DI. All in all, uh I hope you enjoy this amp. Go and try it for yourselves. I think it’s an amazing price for what it is. Uh, it really is something special and I’m very proud to be playing these amps now. So, um, yeah, check them out. Let me know what you think and I’ll see you on the next video. [Music]
