Steve Lukather solo – How Many Times (Toto)

Steve Lukather

Hi guy’s here’s my take on Steve Lukather’s solo from “How Many Times” off the Kingdom Of Desire album by Toto. One of my all time favourite albums of there’s. This solo has everything in it from the Hendrix style beginning and the grinding blues riff ! Then it goes into that real dirty sneaky monster rock/blues riff, then to the classic Lukather style stuff. Lots of over bending in this one too with bags of his fantastic vibrato. The ending is a beast too with serious chops climbing up the frets to a beast of end lick, with ofcourse loads of great delay spilling over. Killer song and a killer solo with bags and bags of feel, which is really missing today in alot of players, WAY TOO MUCH TECHNICAL PLAYERS AND NOT ENOUGH FELL PLAYING COMING UP FROM THE RANKS. Anyway don’t mean to offend here just stating what i feel personally is on youtube too much.
I am a Composer, Producer, Guitarist and Tutor and have been for many years now teaching Guitar and music production.I decided to do an instructional video on this solo and share the great feel, techniques and tones from Steve Lukather. Thanks for watching and i hope you guy’s enjoy it.
