Fish?Circuits’ EXPL?#2 is a mids-focused fuzz built because somebody finally got sick of the tyranny of treble and bass.
You know the stoner rock fuzz everybody and their uncle builds? (Yes, the Big Muff Pi). The one that scoops out everything that makes a guitar actually sit in a mix? Yeah. This pedal reaches into that circuit, yanks out the clipping section, and tosses the tilt EQ in the trash where it belongs.
Only 100 made. Because of course.
Three “Form” knob positions let you dial the character in seconds:
- Left gives you that familiar heavy low-end mess, all thick and melancholic and slightly drunk.
- Center is where the mids finally get their moment. Aggressive but controlled, like a dog that knows it could bite you but chooses not to.
- Right is chaos unleashed. More mids. Less low end. Top end that cuts like a broken bottle. Lead players will love it. Rhythm players will hate it until they try it.
The single “Level” knob for volume. That’s it. No micro-adjusting. No paralysis by options. You want to drive the next pedal in your chain? Go ahead. You want unity? Turn the knob. It’s a volume control. Not a philosophy seminar.
This pedal doesn’t ask for permission. It just sits in the mids and dares you to try to sound like anyone else.
