The Hane Filter is the most immediately useful. LFO sweeps, envelope touch-wah, or both at once. Low pass, band pass, high pass. Easy to find good sounds, harder to find bad ones. The LFO with slow rate and moderate resonance does this trembling thing that’s not quite tremolo and not quite filter—it just sits in the mix and moves air.
fDive Pitch Shifter gives you Twin, Deep, or Merge modes. Twin for harmonies, Deep for octave-down heft, Merge for both. Tracks well enough that you won’tcurse it mid-song, which is the highest compliment you can pay a pitch shifter in this price range.
Leap Octave is the one that reminds you this is a $130 pedal. It’s fuzzy, it’s glitchy on chords, and that’s exactly the point. If you want clean polyphonic octaves, spend four times as much. If you want a snarling, dying-battery rip that cuts through a mix, this is it.
South Zoo Voice Synth is monophonic and unapologetic about it. Square wave leads, sawtooth pads, filter sweeps on a footswitch hold. Sounds like a synthesizer that got shrunk in the wash, in a good way.
Whorl Rotary is the one that hurts in mono. The rotary spread needs stereo to breathe, and the TS connection keeps it caged. It still sounds good—Chorus/Vibrato mode on the secondary toggle adds some life—but you’ll wonder what could have been.
