Nothing highlights where your playing needs work quite like listening back to a take, even if most of us would rather spend our hard-earned cash on shiny new guitars and stompboxes. Whether you’re setting up your first home rig or rounding out an existing setup, Sweetwater is currently running its Studio & Recording sale with up to 50% off hardware and up to 85% off software.
You’ll find price cuts from heavy hitters like Universal Audio, PreSonus, TC Electronic, Warm Audio, Rupert Neve Designs, and Shure, with select items marked down by a couple hundred bucks. While the overall catalog isn’t strictly tailored to guitarists, there are plenty of sweet discounts on audio interfaces, studio monitors, mics, and a ton of recording software.
Rather than forcing you to dig through endless pages of listings, I combed through the sale myself to pull out a few standout pieces. Heading up my list is the Universal Audio UAD Guitar Amp Plugin Bundle, which is currently sitting at $100 off. It packs four iconic tone flavors, giving you accurate simulations of a Vox, a Marshall, and two distinct Fender amps.
Having spent plenty of time playing through these guitar plugins myself, I can confirm they deliver real quality. They give you convincing tube-style response without the boutique price tag, and the built-in presets make dialing in a mix-ready sound effortless if you aren’t used to tweaking virtual rigs. UA consistently nails the user experience with simple controls and instantly stellar tone.
A reliable audio interface is a necessity for tracking at home, and the PreSonus Quantum HD 2 is built with guitar players in mind. A collaboration with their new parent company, Fender, the feature set is clearly aimed at guitarists and really impressed in our hands-on tests. With Sweetwater taking a massive $175 off the price right now, an already attractive option becomes an even better value.
To wrap things up, you’ll need a solid pair of studio monitors to hear your tone in full fidelity. While there are smaller, budget PreSonus desktop speakers on sale, moving up to a larger driver makes a world of difference when recreating the effect of a cranked amp in a room. The KRK Classic 8 packs an 8-inch woofer that delivers serious low-end punch and top-end clarity.
Sweetwater has them marked down by $50 to $199 apiece, letting you score a complete stereo pair for under $400. That’s a killer price point by any engineer’s standards. Plus, with standard 1/4-inch and TRS inputs, you can plug directly out of your amp modeler or multi-effects pedal, while the rear-panel EQ controls make it easy to tune out boominess if you’re forced to place them up against a wall.
