@jakubzytecki is my all-time favourite artist, and not so long ago he dropped a new album that had the song ‘MOONGHOST alt’ in it. I remembered ‘Moon Ghost’ from his live album – a slow, yet uplifting song about love, social media, online activity, the way the ‘ghost’ life of ours, life inside our phones, affects our real life and relationships. The new version, however, is a chugging-chonky-djenty instrumental composition with a complex and unique solo. This huge difference gave me an idea that the ‘alt’ version is the music of the ‘defeated’ character from the ‘live stripped’ version. This track involves a lot of technology-ish sounds because machinery, the thirst for clout and acceptance in social media and the need keep up with the online updates won against human needs for real sincerity, connection, honesty, support, etc. It hit home as I am also very dependent on the online part of my life.
So I put these two tracks together as a finished story and generated this image via the Kandinsky bot. The prompt was extremely huge and I just love the final result.
