The lyrics were inspired by the etiquette book, “George Washington’s Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior.” I truly enjoyed turning Washington’s Rules of Civility (WROC) into ROCK songs! I hope my vocal and guitar melodies will stir your heart and improve your table manners. Spit Not in the Fire!

The “Carriage” in this song is not a horse-drawn vehicle. Instead, it is “The manner in which one carries oneself.” I suspect that I don’t carry myself as well as I could. So I’m hoping this song might steer me in a better direction. Speaking of carrying things, this song features me playing a doubleneck guitar. Carrying the weight of this musical monster strengthens one’s character… and one’s back!
