I reviewed the Spark Neo Core last year and found its build quality to be really great. They’re covered in a durable rubber that’s textured like guitar amp Tolex. Although you can use them without the companion app, you’ll need to set it up initially to access the 33 amp simulations and 43 effects models. Once this is done, you can do away with the smartphone and change between four presets using the built-in buttons on the headphones themselves.
The sound is absolutely phenomenal, and you can tweak it to suit any style, whether you play country or heavy metal. The closed-back design of the headphones also makes them very engaging, as they block out all but the loudest external noises. With a huge array of useful practice tools built into the app, this is undoubtedly one of the cheapest ways to pick up a powerful addition to your practice regime this Labor Day weekend.
