WROC is my first vocal album since 2016. The lyrics were inspired by the etiquette book, “George Washington’s Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior.” I truly enjoyed turning Washington’s Rules of Civility (WROC) into ROCK songs! I hope my vocal and guitar melodies will stir your heart and improve your table manners. Spit Not in the Fire!

This is really three songs in one… a trilogy! The lyrics came from combining six different Washington rules. I enjoy the dramatic contrasts they have with one another. From sweetness and kindness, to greasy knives, to a spark of celestial fire! The mood of the music follows the lyrics and goes from melancholic harmonies, to odd-time rock, to pop melodies, to stumbling blues, and then returns to the opening theme with giant vocal harmonies at the end. Most producers would recommend recording the song in sections and pasting it together. But I insisted that we attempt the whole thing live. And thanks to the excellent performances from Doug, Timmer, and Nick, we got it in one shot!
